Join me in supporting kid’s mental health

End the stigma.

Mental health affects the way people think, feel and act. Taking care of our mental health is just as important as having a healthy body.

As a child, I struggled with mental health, in fact, I still struggle. I watch others struggle and wish to end the stigma around children and youth and their mental well-being. I grew up in a time where seeing a therapist was not something we chatted openly about and asking for mental health help was just not as easy. With mental health campaigns in full swing, I knew I wanted to actively get involved.

This month, I will be donating all proceeds of tillandisia plants purchased through Amy’s Little Plant Shop to Kid’s Help Phone.

Pink Quill Tillandisia (Wallisia cyanea)

As a parent, you play an important role in your child’s mental health – but not every kid is lucky enough to have a strong support system in their life. Kids deserve the best. All their thoughts, opinions and concerns are valid.

Approximately 1 in 5 children and youth in Ontario has a mental health challenge. About 70% of mental health challenges have their onset in childhood or youth. (source: CMHA)

If you’re concerned about your child’s mental health, find help. Talk to your child’s teacher, close friends, or relatives to see if they’ve noticed any behaviour changes. Call your doctor and describe the behaviours that concern you. Get the help they need.

No matter what you’re going through, Kid’s Help Phone crisis responders are available 24/7.

  • Call 1-800-668-6868

How you can donate.

You can make sure that kids are never alone. Help by donating directly to Kid’s Help Phone.
